The International Office (Incoming Department) is looking for two student assistants to support international students, starting on September 1, 2026:

  • 1x student assistant for the support of exchange students
  • 1x student assistant in the International Buddy Programme

You can expect a varied role with a focus on administration, organization, and communication.

Scope of duties: 10-12 hours/week, remuneration according to TV-H E3

Pre-Study THM offers you the opportunity to attend lectures at THM before starting your studies and to get comprehensive information about studying at THM.

The program offers courses on the Giessen and Friedberg campuses as well as online. This allows you to participate locally, but also from anywhere in Germany and abroad.

Even outside of university, you can help shape life in and around Giessen and maintain contact with Giessen . Volunteering is also an opportunity for further education, expanding your network and (application) profile, and spending time in Giessen .

The Giessen Volunteer Center supports various projects in the city. You can help plant a seasonal vegetable garden or run a clothing exchange. You can also support refugees here in Giessen . If you prefer being outdoors and enjoy being active, you can help as a gardener, a clean-up volunteer, or even take care of two goats. Get involved!

The Hessian Ministry of Science and Art awards scholarships through the "HessenFonds" to particularly gifted refugee students, doctoral candidates, and researchers at THM. The funding is intended to support the Further study or academic career at THM.

As part of the RISE Worldwide (Research Internships in Science and Engineering) scholarship program, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is again arranging research internships around the world for 2022. Among others, Bachelor's students from their second semester onwards in the Departmentsof natural sciences , engineering , medicine , pharmacy , psychology , and computer science at German universities and universities of applied sciences are eligible to apply. Master's students are unfortunately not eligible to apply. Scholarship recipients receive a monthly DAAD stipend and a travel allowance (both dependent on the destination country), as well as health, accident, and liability insurance.


Application period for internships worldwide: November 1, 2021 to December 15, 2021
