ERASMUS+ Internship

Requirements:

• You are enrolled at THM at the time of application and for the entire duration of the internship
• The internship is carried out as part of your studies, meaning that the internship is related to your field of study
• The internship is a full-time position
• The internship abroad lasts at least two months (= 60 days)

Danger:

• Only enrolled students at German universities who are nationals of a country participating in the program or who are officially recognized as refugees, stateless persons or as permanent residents in the country where they reside are eligible for ERASMUS mobility grants
• Participants from third countries (countries that are not among the Erasmus participating countries) can only participate in the Erasmus program if they are completing a full course of study and pursuing a degree
• Exchange students cannot participate in the program
• Internship projects in EU institutions or EU projects are not eligible for funding.

Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, North Macedonia, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Turkey, Croatia, Serbia and the overseas territories

• Monthly stipend (for funding rates see contact point for EU internships (Hesse))
• Organizational support in preparing and carrying out your internship abroad
•  Internship activities are regulated by the Learning Agreement
• Online support for internships abroad within the EU (and overseas territories)
• Training in intercultural competence and other key qualifications (Hands-on Learning Course)
• Extensive practical support in the search for internships on request (access to the hands-on learning info module with tips and information from former interns on finding accommodation, internships, life in the internship country, access to country information and helpful links, internship database)
• Online language training in the working language, according to the latest developments in foreign language skills (Online Language Support)
• Certificate of participation in the program
• We will issue the Europass Mobility certificate upon request
• Access to the Erasmus community (Erasmus Student Network, Erasmus Alumni Network)
• Possible special funding (first-generation students, working students, students with disabilities studying abroad, students with children studying abroad)
• Possible special funding for sustainable travel (Green Travel)

We recommend an internship duration of at least 10-12 weeks. A stay abroad with Erasmus+ can be funded for between 2 and 12 months per study cycle (Bachelor's, Master's, Doctoral studies)

Example: You spend one semester (5 months) at a host university during your Bachelor's degree, extend it by another semester (5 semesters total), and complete an internship abroad with Erasmus (2 months). During your Master's degree or doctoral studies, you are again entitled to up to 12 months of funding.

Application deadlines: no later than 2 months before the planned start of the internship.

In the UK: no later than 4 months before the planned start of the internship.

In all cases, applications can be submitted no earlier than 7 months before the planned start of the internship!

Submit application

Please use the THM application database SoleMove to submit your application. 

• Your motivation for the host country/employer is clearly presented in your letter of motivation
• They are enrolled at THM during their stay abroad
• Your internship supervisor or Departmental International Coordinator has certified the relevance of your internship to your field of study
• They possess the language skills required for the semester abroad
• You will not receive any further DAAD funding, e.g. through PROMOS/HAW.International
• The minimum stay is 60 days
• Your ERASMUS+ funding quota has not yet been exhausted, meaning you have not yet exceeded the maximum funding period of 12 months in your current study phase (BA/MA/PhD)
