Are you planning a stay abroad in the second half of the year (Winter Semester 30.06. – 31.12.)?

Then apply for funding by May 31st ! The PROMOS scholarship can be awarded for semesters abroad, internships, summer schools and selected language courses.

Deadline: May 31st for a stay from June 30th to December 31st, 2023.
The application period for stays in the first half of 2024 will begin again in November.


This year, the French Embassy in Germany is offering scholarships for German students in Bachelor's and Master'sdegree courses, for (post-)doctoral students and research assistants .

Transylvania International Summer Courses of Romanian Language and Civilization represents one of the University`s tradition, recommended across half of century, by the professional expertise of its teachers, the quality of the working materials and of the methods of teaching. The curriculum has been created in such a way that it meets particular individual needs of the participants, whose experience is complete with high value cultural activities, meant to integrate them in the Romanian scenery.

The Steuben-Schurz Society (SSG), the oldest German-American friendship organization in Germany, was founded over 60 years ago to promote German-American relations in the areas of society, culture, and politics.
In 1999, the SSG conceived the idea for the USA Interns Program, a German-American internship program. The program arranges internships for students of all disciplines from German and American universities with the aim of gaining a deeper understanding of the partner country. Program participants gain practical insights into the culture, history, and professional life of the host country.

The practice-oriented studies at universities of applied sciences (formerly Fachhochschulen) are highly regarded in Germany and worldwide. The DAAD supports students at universities of applied sciences during their stays abroad and the universities themselves in collaborative projects with international partners. Students enrolled in Bachelor's, Master's, and Diploma degree courses at German universities of applied sciences receive scholarships through this program for a stay abroad as part of their studies or thesis work.

The program aims to provide insights into Taiwanese culture and science in cooperation with the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) in Taiwan. Stays at universities and research institutions in Taiwan are possible.

Funding is provided for a stay fixed to the period of August/September, which is divided into the following sections:

  • One-week introductory seminar with regional studies excursions, a taster language course and culinary experiences
  • approximately two-month research stay at university or non-university research institutes

The ASA program offers development policy exchange and engagement opportunities for students and people with vocational training. It includes a project phase of at least three months in countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Southeast Europe, as well as preparatory and follow-up seminars. Engagement Global awards 280 scholarships annually on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) for participation.

The DESY Summer Student Program will take place between July 18th and September 7th, 2023.

This offers students studying physics, related natural sciences or computer science the opportunity to participate in the daily activities of research groups in laboratories in Hamburg and Berlin.

St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences is offering courses in media and digital technologies again between June 26 and 30, 2023. These courses will be held in a hybrid format (on-site or online). Further information about the individual courses can be found on the Webseite .

Apart from a payment of €21.20 to the Austrian Student Association and any material costs, participation in the courses is free of charge.

The program consists of industrial placements for EU / SMP-COSME* students. It starts in September and ends in August of the following year in order to accommodate the academic year in EU Member States.

The students follow:

  • a seminar on Japan,
  • a four-month intensive Japanese language course,
  • and then an eight-month traineeship in a Japanese company.
