Who can apply?

requirements:

• You are enrolled at the THM at the time of application and for the entire duration of the internship
• The internship is carried out as part of your studies, ie the internship is related to your studies
• The internship is a full-time job
• The internship abroad lasts at least two months (= 60 days)

Danger:

• Only students enrolled at German universities who are nationals of a country participating in the programme or who are officially recognized as refugees, stateless persons or permanent residents in their country of residence are eligible for ERASMUS mobility grants
• Participants from third countries (countries that do not belong to the Erasmus participating countries see below) can only take part in the Erasmus programme if they complete a full course of study and are pursuing a degree
• Exchange students cannot participate in the programme
• Internships in EU institutions or in EU projects cannot be funded.

Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Macedonia, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Turkey, Croatia, Serbia as well as the overseas territories

What is funded?

• Monthly grant (for funding rates see Contact point for EU internships (Hesse))
• Organizational support in the preparation and implementation of your internship abroad
•  Secured internship activities through EU internship contract
• Online support of the internship abroad within the EU (and Overseas Territories)
• Training in intercultural competence and other key qualifications, based on findings from current EU research and development projects (hands-on learning course)
• Extensive practical support when looking for internships on request (access to the hands-on learning info module with tips and information from former interns on looking for an apartment, internship search, life in the internship country, access to country information and helpful links, internship exchange)
• Online language training in the working language, according to the latest development of foreign language skills (Online Language Support)
• Certificate of participation in the programme
• On request we will provide it Europass Mobility out
• Access to the Erasmus community (Erasmus Student Network, Erasmus Alumni Network)
• possibly special funding (first-time academics, working students, Studying abroad with a disability, Studying abroad with a child)
• possibly special funding for sustainable travel (Green Travel)

How long can I go abroad with Erasmus+?

We recommend an internship duration of at least 10-12 weeks. A stay abroad with Erasmus+ can between 2 and 12 months per study cycle (bachelor, master, doctoral studies) can be funded with Erasmus+. 

Example: You spend one semester (5 months) at a host university in your Bachelor's degree, extend another semester (5 semesters), complete a Internships abroad with Erasmus (2 months). In the Master's or during the doctorate you are again entitled to funding for up to 12 months.

With & without internship: no later than 2 months before the planned internship begins

In the UK: no later than 4 months before the planned start of the internship

In all cases, the application is possible at the earliest 7 months before the planned start of the internship!

What are the selection criteria?

• Your motivation for the host country/employer is clearly shown in the letter of motivation
• You are enrolled at the THM during your stay abroad
• Your internship representative or international representative has certified that the internship is relevant to your subject
• You have the language skills required for the semester abroad
• You will not receive any further DAAD funding, eg from PROMOS/HAW.International
• The length of stay is at least 60 days
• The ERASMUS+ funding quota has not yet been exhausted, ie you have not yet exceeded the maximum funding period of 12 months in the current study phase (BA/MA/PhD).
