
The DAAD supports students at universities of applied sciences during their stays abroad and the universities themselves in collaborative projects with international partners. More information can be found at [website address] www.daad.de/HAW.
Who can apply?
THMstudents in Bachelor's and Master's degree courses and doctoral candidates can apply directly to the DAAD. If they are already receiving DAAD funding for their stay in Germany, they are not eligible to apply.
What is funded?
Funding will be provided
- Study stays lasting 3 to 6 months and
- Stays abroad as part of a thesis project lasting from 1 to 6 months, as well as
- International internships
- application for (if applicable) Special funding for students with disabilities or chronic illnesses and Stays with child(ren): can be submitted later
The scholarship includes the following benefits:
- a monthly stipend rate, which varies depending on the host country,
- Travel allowance, the amount of which varies depending on the host country,
- Services for health, accident and personal liability insurance,
- For study abroad programmes: subsidy towards any applicable tuition fees up to a maximum limit (depending on the destination country),
- For theses: a grant for travel in the host country that is directly related to the project.
- Furthermore, under certain conditions, family benefits can be granted upon application for accompanying spouses or partners and children.

Application process
Applications are submitted online directly to the DAAD. Please be sure to carefully review and follow the comprehensive information provided online by the DAAD.
Application documents to be submitted include, among others:.
- Language proficiency test, e.g. to be submitted at the THM Language Center
- Letters of recommendation,
- Transcript of Records,
- detailed description of the study project.
