The Xamk University of Applied Sciences in Mikkeli, Finland is organizing the Xamk Summer School of Gaming (3 ECTS) from 4th to August 10, 2025.

The Summer School focuses on the Basics of video game development (3 ECTS) And teaches them how to develop a video game by dealing with concept design and development. In practice you will learn how to develop a basic game concept, from an idea to a pitch, without having to have a background in game development.

The classes will be held by gaming industry professionals:

• Dr. Jan Storgårds : With over 25 years of experience in the game industry, he is an entrepreneur, director of Cadgi (Cambridge Academy of Games and Innovation) and CEO of Cambridge Gamechanger Ltd. He also has experience in working with start-ups and technology companies in the early phase, including video game studios.
• James Shepherd: CEO by Cypherdelic Limited and head of the studio at Ndreams, which recently published Ghostbusters VR. The two-time BAFTA and Develop winner is responsible for the development of products that sell in the millions. He worked for Microsoft (creation of the Xbox game community "Upload" and the "Upload Studio") app (delivery of triple-A products such as "Heavenly Sword" and "Littlebigplanet").
