FIT – promoting international talents InternationalTalents@THM

International students face major challenges when studying and starting a career. Of the approximately 50,000 international students who complete their studies across Germany every year, over half study MINT subjects. Despite wishes to stay and generous legal options, many graduates are unable to enter the German job market. A year after graduation, around a third are still looking for work.

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) supports German universities in order to better prepare international students and graduates for the German job market. Funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), the "Campus initiative for international specialists" in the expansion of career services and support structures in order to reduce obstacles to integration into the labor market. As part of the campus initiative, the skilled workers programme promotes FIT (Promotion of international talent for integration into studies and the labor market) the development of measures for study preparation, study support and ensuring study success as well as the expansion of career services for international students at German universities.

Under the name InternationalTalents@THM The THM specifically prepares international prospective students for the requirements of studying in Germany, supports international students in integrating them into their specialist studies and supports graduates in their transition to the German job market.
