Certificate of participation
By actively participating in the International Buddy Programme, you will gain experience in an intercultural environment. At the end of the semester, you can receive a certificate of participation acknowledging your involvement at the university. This will enhance your CV and application documents.
Requirements for the certificate of participation
To receive a certificate of participation, you must have been active with your buddy and meet at least the following three requirements :
Intercultural training
Evaluation event
Group event of your choiceParticipation in an intercultural training
Participation in an evaluation event
During the semester there are two evaluation events (mid-term and final evaluation).
Participation in a group event of your choice
- This does not apply to information events
- International students can also have a workshop credited towards their studies

Elective module “IBP Intercultural Competence and Encounters”
Within the framework of the International Buddy Programme, you can earn 3 ECTS credits towards your studies. This Elective module is offered by the Department Media and Information Sciences (MNI) for the Social Media Systems (B.Sc.) program, but is also open to all other students. Participation and credit transfer must be arranged with your Department beforehand. For credit transfer, the "Approval Procedure" document must be signed by the Department .
Important: ECTS credits cannot be awarded for participation in the International Buddy Programme alone - only in combination with the Elective module.
Module description “International Buddy Program - Intercultural Competence and Encounters”

By actively participating in the THM International Buddy Programme, you will develop your intercultural skills and, at the same time, your foreign language skills. Furthermore, you will apply the skills learned directly in practice, learn to work effectively in culturally diverse groups, and develop a culturally sensitive attitude.
Requirements and assessment: Active participation as a buddy in the International Buddy Programme and the creation of a written reflection report (at least three pages) at the end of the semester.
