LEARNING GERMAN BEFORE STUDYING

THM THM with the Justus Liebig University Giessen (JLU) and offers German courses from C1 to the DSH exam for international prospective students and applicants

Language level for studying

Before you can enroll at THM , you must have achieved at least a DSH-2 or an equivalent certificate.

If you are interested in a course at levels A1, A2, B1 or B2, please apply directly via the uni-assist portal at Justus Liebig University Giessen (JLU).

JLU Giessen offers German courses at all levels. Please find out about fees and registration deadlines in good time. 

JLU also offers fee-based international intensive German courses in the summer and spring:

  • The International University Summer Course (HSK) takes place from the end of August to the end of September. After four weeks (approx. 95 teaching hours), you will receive a certificate of participation worth 4 ECTS credits.
  • The International Spring Course (IFK) lasts three weeks (approx. 60 teaching hours) and usually takes place in March/April. You will receive a certificate of participation worth 3 ECTS credits.

 

LEARNING GERMAN DURING YOUR STUDIES

The language center at THM offers all international students and participants in the pre-study program a range of opportunities to improve their German language skills.

You can expand your knowledge through self-study as well as with the support of a tutorial. You can also develop your writing skills during your studies and receive direct help with specific problems.

If you are already studying at THM , the THM Language Centre offers a block course as an Elective subject “German as a Technical Language”, for which you can receive ECTS credits.
