The Research and Young Academics department will inform you about the current funding programmes of national, EU and non-European organizations. We advise you on funding institutions and programmes.

Strategic Research Fund

With the Strategic Research Fund (PDF) the THM makes an important contribution to the initiation of research for the development of solution proposals for the great social challenges of our time. The THM thus supports its scientists in the initiation, preparation and implementation of research and development activities through various funding measures:

  • University teachers and young scientists with a doctorate from the THM are given the option of start-up funding for new research ideas that serve to establish or expand their research focus and further develop their research activities.
  • Within the first three years after taking up their professorship at the THM , newly appointed professors are specifically encouraged to start their research activities with start-up funding.
  • University graduates who would like to obtain further academic qualifications at the THM as part of a doctoral project, the THM offers attractive conditions for completing their doctorates through doctoral positions, start-up and final financing as well as other financial support measures for conference participation, summer schools, publications, childcare and laboratory support .

This gives the THM scientists the freedom and space to think for new research ideas and innovative research approaches.

evaluation

The strategic research fund of the THM is evaluated at regular intervals and, on this basis, individual funding lines are realigned and the strategic research funding is further developed overall.
