Centres of competence
To sharpen its research profile, THM has set up interdisciplinary centres of competence, the strengths of which lie particularly in applied research. The research groups in the centres of competence offer outstanding research opportunities to junior academics and provide opportunities to cooperate with colleagues at home and abroad and with business.
The Centre for Research and Transfer (ZFT), founded in 2008, created the organisational framework for the centres of competence. It is responsible for the overall research strategy, administration of funding and research marketing.
In addition to the research activities in the centres of competence, research work in the departments and institutes also makes a significant contribution to the research profile of THM.
