The Research and Young Academics department informs you about current funding programmes offered by national, EU, and non-European organizations. We advise you on funding institutions and programmes.

With its Strategic Research Fund ( PDF THM makes a significant contribution to initiating research for developing solutions to the major societal challenges of our time. THM its researchers in initiating, preparing, and conducting research and development activities through various funding measures:

  • Professors and junior researchers with doctorates at THM are eligible for seed funding for new research ideas that serve to establish or expand their research priorities and further develop their research activities.
  • Newly appointed university professors at THM receive targeted support through start-up funding to help them begin their research activities within the first three years after taking up their professorship.
  • THM offers attractive conditions for university graduates who wish to pursue further academic qualifications at the THM as part of a doctoral project, including doctoral positions, start-up and completion funding, as well as further financial support measures for conference participation, summer schools, publications, childcare and laboratory support.

This provides the scientists at THM with freedom and space for new research ideas and novel research approaches.

Evaluation

The THM 's Strategic Research Fund is evaluated at regular intervals, and on this basis individual funding lines are realigned and strategic research funding as a whole is further developed.
