In the THM Centres of Competence as well as numerous working groups, young scientists find excellent research opportunities for their doctorates. The excellent and proven connection between the THM and industry enables doctoral theses to be carried out under the supervision of a university lecturer from the THM in a practical and application-oriented environment.

The THM strives to offer all doctoral students structured doctoral training in which they receive a well-founded professional qualification for their scientific career in addition to the dissertation.
Programmes with structured doctoral training for THM doctoral students

The doctorate can be done as a cooperative doctorate via a university in Germany or abroad or via the doctoral center for engineering sciences at the research campus Central Hesse of the Justus Liebig University Gießen , the Philipps University Marburg and the Technical University of Central Hesse (PZI). In the field of life science engineering, the THM has the right to carry out independent doctoral procedures for the Dr. -Ing. These promotions are carried out under the leadership of the THM as part of the PZI.
