MAGIE – the Makerspace Giessen is an open workshop for digital production. We offer everything from 3D printing and robotics to microelectronics and artificial intelligence, enabling the creation of functional prototypes. In addition, we offer a diverse program covering topics such as business start-ups, sustainability, technology ethics, pedagogy, art, virtual reality, and medical technology. This aims to foster a well-informed and critical engagement with new technologies.
Everything revolves around creating and producing new ideas. The focus is on digital technologies such as 3D printing, laser cutting, microelectronics, and microcomputers like the Raspberry Pi, with even more to come. Anyone can simply drop by, learn more, get a first impression of the technology, and then get started themselves.
The aim is to stimulate transdisciplinary and interdisciplinary exchange within universities, between universities, practitioners, companies, the public, and all interested parties. The resulting impetus should lead to an interesting and productive debate on the topic of 3D printing. The project partners also expect this multi-faceted approach to particularly spark the interest of aspiring entrepreneurs and, through the opportunities for experimentation, to promote the creation of new businesses.

Regardless of age, gender, or prior knowledge, everyone can participate!
During opening hours, there are open workshop times, allowing you to work on your own projects, tackle a challenge, or simply experiment. During other events, the workshop area may be occupied, depending on the type of event.
