MAGIE - the Makerspace Gießen is an open workshop for digital production. From 3D printing to robotics and microelectronics to artificial intelligence, we offer all the options for producing functional prototypes. There is also a diverse programme on the topics of company start-ups, sustainability, technology ethics, didactics, art, virtual reality and medical technology. This should enable a well-founded social and critical examination of new technologies.
Everything revolves around creating and producing new ideas. The focus is on digital technologies such as 3D printing, laser cutting, microelectronics and microcomputers such as the Raspberry Pi, and even more over time. Here everyone can simply stop by and inform themselves informally, get a first impression of the technology and then get started themselves.
The aim is to stimulate a transdisciplinary and interdisciplinary exchange within the universities, between the universities, practitioners, companies, citizens and all interested parties. The resulting impulses should lead to an interesting and fruitful debate on the topic of 3D printing. The project partners hope that the multi-threshold approach will also arouse the interest of founders in particular and also promote business start-ups with the opportunity to experiment.
