The THM Foundation for Applied Research, Innovation and Transfer (fit) promotes applied research and development at the Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen and technology transfer to the regional economy.

The fit Foundation was jointly established in 2009 by the former Giessen -Friedberg University of Applied Sciences (now Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen ) and regional businesses. The foundation's goal is to promote applied science and research, as well as technology transfer between the university and businesses, chambers of commerce, municipalities, and associations in Central Hesse, and to support particularly qualified pupils and/or students in STEM fields.

The Fit Foundation

  • promotes the recruitment of young talent in STEM fields through the annual awarding of scholarships to particularly gifted pupils at the start of their studies
  • annually awards the Karl-Heinz Lust Innovation Prize for excellent and innovative theses (Bachelor's, Master's) in the fields of Industry 4.0, Digital Economy and Artificial Intelligence
  • promotes the exchange and cooperation of researchers, especially with the regional economy, in order to increase innovation capacity.
