Two-day interactive live online training for young scientists
In this online workshop, you will deal individually and intensively with important aspects of conversation, discussion and negotiation, thus expanding your personal communication skills.
The event is aimed at early-career researchers at THM (doctoral candidates and research assistants). Maximum number of participants: 12
Description
Goals:
- You realistically assess the impact of your argumentation plan.
- They recognize the responsibility that comes with leading the conversation and fulfill this role appropriately to the situation.
- You are familiar with the possibilities of your communicative means of expression and use them authentically.
- They assess the current state of your personal negotiation skills and development potential.
Methods: The learning process takes place through short trainer inputs, exchange of experiences, training units, case simulations, case discussions, observation, reflection, and feedback. A video camera is available to support the observation and feedback phases.
Condition: Please bring the courage to try things out, a joy in experimenting, and an openness to the other participants. Then this workshop will be a successful and enriching experience for everyone involved!

The workshop takes place over two consecutive days.

- Argue effectively in discussions
- Know and consider the other person's perspective
- Transforming specialist knowledge into a consensual process
- Assess the persuasiveness of the arguments realistically, taking the situation into account
- Pay attention to basic communication skills
- Establish authentic contact with the other person
- Use verbal and nonverbal means in such a way that the personal impact is appropriately expressed and "shines"
- To enable joint, constructive action in the face of differing interests or conflicting positions
- Bringing together diverse perspectives in such a way that potential synergies and viable compromises become apparent

- Practical additional qualifications: Media trainer (SQC®), moderation trainer (DHA), Trainer Xpert personal business skills
- Since 1997: Analysis, consulting, coaching and training for communication, rhetoric and public speaking in education, business, administration and university
- Since 2001, I have specialized in quality management and skills development, particularly for broadcasting programs. My areas of expertise include: feedback processes, training and coaching for journalistic skills, quality control and evaluation, program analysis, and concept and format development for training and analysis design.

You will need the following on site:
- a room without external acoustic disturbances
- stable internet access
- A laptop, tablet, or desktop computer that is not too old
- Webcam (possibly external)
- Microphone with good audio quality (possibly an external USB microphone)
- Useful for better audio intelligibility: headphones or headset
The online workshop will be conducted as a Zoom video conference . You will need the Zoom client on your computer. You will receive instructions and access details well in advance of the event.
