Are events your passion? Do you not only enjoy attending them, but also want to be able to design and manage them from start to finish? As a Bachelor of Science in Event Management and Technology, you'll be an event professional, handling everything from concept and planning to execution and controlling. Here, your creativity goes hand in hand with your business and technical expertise.

In this Bachelor's degree program, you will acquire the expertise required in the events industry. You will begin by gaining foundational knowledge in marketing, event management, and event technology. Later, you will specialize in one of these two areas.
Of course, practical experience is an integral part of the program: Utilize our rehearsal stage equipped with state-of-the-art event technology for practical projects, lectures, and university events. Benefit from our media labs, practical presentations, and collaborations. Gain practical experience at home or abroad during your internship.

Studies

The first three semesters form the foundation phase. Here you will attend modules from both areas (marketing and event management as well as event technology), thus laying the groundwork for your choice of specialization. To progress to the fourth semester, you must demonstrate 90% of the credit points (CRPs) achievable in the foundation phase. From the fourth semester onwards, you will delve deeper into your chosen specialization, either marketing and event management or event technology, while continuing to take Elective modules from the other specialization as well.

This allows you to build up your expertise in your chosen specialization and demonstrate it during the Professional Practice Phase (BPP) in the 7th semester. During the BPP, you will choose your thesis topic, perhaps even in cooperation with your BPP company. After receiving your Bachelor of Science degree, you will be eligible to pursue a Master's degree in Strategic Live Communication (SLK).

EMT places a special emphasis on marketing and event management, and the successful positioning of companies and brands through events, as part of its business administration training. This includes, in addition to..

  • Live Communication 1/2, consisting of Event Management 1/2 and Marketing 1/2

  • Computer Science for Event Technology 1/2

and the questions: How do I present a brand in the right light? How can companies make themselves heard?

The program is complemented by practical lectures, a practical work placement (if possible abroad) and an Elective area in the respective focus areas.
