The Mathematics for Sustainability, Economics, and Data Science program demonstrates how application-oriented mathematics can be. You will learn to analyze complex problems, find suitable solutions, and make sustainable decisions. The combination of mathematical methods, AI, and topics such as risk management will help you actively shape the future.

Mathematics is more than just numbers – it's the key tool for understanding dynamic, complex relationships and developing sustainable solutions. In addition to subject-specific skills, you'll also gain competencies in teamwork, presentation, and academic writing. The program offers a strong practical focus, current topics, and flexible specializations, allowing you to find your own path, be ideally prepared for tomorrow's challenges, and make better decisions for a sustainable future.

Studies

Basic mathematical knowledge and specialist knowledge in business mathematics topics are imparted to such a degree that graduates are able to solve concrete problems in their professional field and acquire appropriate specialist knowledge.

In the first semesters, you'll learn the basics: analysis, linear algebra, and stochastics. After that, you'll delve deeper into financial and actuarial mathematics, data science, and optimization. Computer science and economics knowledge round out the program and perfectly prepare you for diverse, practical applications.

As is typical in mathematical Degree Courses , a solid foundation in the core subjects of analysis, linear algebra, and stochastics forms the basis of the curriculum. Following this, you will delve into advanced mathematical subjects, particularly in financial and actuarial mathematics and mathematical modeling. The program also imparts sound fundamental knowledge in computer science and economics, as well as other key skills such as self-organization, communication skills, and social competence.

The following is a list of courses. The numbers indicate the number of hours per week or the number of credit points allocated to each subject for each semester. A total of 180 credit points must be earned. The study program shown here reflects the start of the winter semester.
