The Bachelor's degree program in Medical Physics and Radiation Protection primarily aims to impart broad fundamental and methodological knowledge in the field of applied physics. Graduates are prepared to quickly and flexibly familiarize themselves with the diverse problems in medical physics and radiation protection. These physics competencies are combined within the program with the necessary fundamental medical knowledge.

Studies
Study content
Medical physics and radiation protection are both part of applied physics. The bachelor's program provides fundamental knowledge in mathematical and physical fields during the first semesters.
The second part of the study focuses on medical-physical, medical and radiation protection-related topics.
Graduates are empowered and prepared to independently acquire new specialist knowledge in their professional lives. Furthermore, supplementary courses also impart and develop non-specialist skills.
Study program
The following is a list of the courses offered in the degree program. The numbers indicate the weekly workload of the course or the credit points you will receive for successful completion. A total of 210 credit points must be earned. At the end of your studies, you will complete a multi-week practical placement, which is typically undertaken at a company.

Career prospects
Perspectives
There is demand in the job market within the relevant medical technology industry (service engineers, marketing and sales), as well as at regulatory authorities. Due to the specialized training in medical and industrial radiation protection, the field of industrial radiation protection is opening up (for example, the planned decommissioning of nuclear facilities in Germany).
