How are active biopharmaceutical ingredients produced, sterilized, prepared and packaged so that they are not harmful to the human body and have the desired effect in the right place? What kinds of diagnostic procedures can be used to recognize diseases more quickly, more efficiently and more cost efficiently? How can membranes be used to produce extremely small particles for nanotechnology? These are some of the questions addressed in biopharmaceutical technology.
Students go on field trips to trade shows and visit companies. These field trips allow students to monitor and follow bioengineering processes such as those used in a brewery.
