The amounts of data produced every day in biomedical research laboratories are unbelievably large. These data cannot be utilized though until it is known which portions are even relevant and what these mean. This is precisely the reason why software programs are required that can be used to process, evaluate and analyse data so that relevant data can be used by those people involved. The development of such software programs is precisely the work of bioinformatics experts.
Does combining your interest in biology and computer science for an interdisciplinary career appeal to you? Are you interested in computer science and in biology? Do you like mathematics and chemistry? If so, then bioinformatics is the right course for you.
