A degree in Biomedical Engineering qualifies students for multidisciplinary tasks in medicine and technology. Graduates act as mediators between these two disciplines and deal with the development and application of medical devices and equipment such as those used in radiology, ultrasound diagnostics and respiration. They provide for quality, availability, safety and economy. Additional tasks include planning facilities and processes. Besides the medical technology industry, biomedical engineers can also find work in service companies, clinics and health care facilities.
