The coop programme's undergraduate course in Engineering - Mechanical Engineering qualifies students to apply engineering methods to find solutions for a wide variety of tasks in mechanical engineering and to implement these solutions so that technical systems used in a specific field can be planned, developed and manufactured.

The course builds on a broad spectrum of core engineering and natural science subjects and combines these with modern specializations oriented to the following occupational fields: General Mechanical Engineering, Forming, Hygiene Design and Refrigeration and Air Conditioning. In the first year and a half traditional foundation subjects in mechanical engineering represent the predominant modules, including mathematics, physics & chemistry, mechanics, materials science, manufacturing engineering, design and thermodynamics. From the end of year two students deepen their knowledge by concentrating on application oriented modules in their chosen specialization.
