Scholarships - What you've always wanted to know

Too many students still believe they have no chance of receiving a scholarship. This is often a misconception: many students have a good GPA (2.0 or better) and are involved in clubs, associations, or other projects alongside their studies. This fulfills the ideal requirements for a scholarship.

For students with professional experience, there is the very interesting "Advancement Scholarship" offered by the Foundation for the Promotion of Gifted Students in Vocational Education. This federal grant is aimed at skilled workers with vocational training and at least two years of professional experience.

Besides the major scholarship foundations, countless smaller foundations exist, often awarding only a limited number of scholarships to a specific target group. Applying to these can also be worthwhile. However, finding the right scholarship requires significantly more research. Funding criteria for such smaller foundations might include specific Degree Courses or residency requirements.
