1. Don't freak out, slow down. tree tree tree tree tree

Knowing how: Each degree of room temperature reduction saves approx. 6% heating energy without reducing your well-being. If the room temperature in your office falls by 1°C, you save around 50 kg of CO 2 per office per year and you virtually plant 5 trees.

2. Push me - No standby. tree tree tree tree tree tree

On the way to the appointment, the PC remains in standby mode or even switched on completely?
What was worthwhile with older PC models due to time constraints no longer makes sense today. PCs now start up almost as quickly as waking up from standby mode. This small act can save 112 kilowatt hours per year on a single computer. This corresponds to approx. 60 kg CO 2 per office and year or virtually 6 new trees.

3. Lights out then out! tree tree tree

"If you go out, turn off the light right away." Always remember to turn off the light before you leave your room. This small step requires little effort and can still save a lot of energy. Always check whether there is sufficient daylight and whether artificial light can be dispensed with. This corresponds to a saving of approximately 65 kWh/a, ie 3 trees.

4. Become a ventilation master! tree tree tree tree tree tree tree

Continuous, uncontrolled ventilation with a tilted window cools down the walls
and thus promotes the formation of mold. If necessary, intermittent ventilation while the radiator valve is closed is more efficient and increases comfort. This allows you to save 70 kg of CO 2 save per office and year, the equivalent of planting 7 trees.

5. Keep your cool while washing your hands! tree tree tree tree tree tree tree tree tree

To kill germs just by the water temperature, they would have to wash their hands with boiling water. For the cleaning power of the soap, the water temperature is irrelevant. You have it in your hands: Washing your hands with cold water 5 times a day for a year saves that much CO2 per person 2 , like 9 trees absorb in a year.
