The TH Mittelhessen is not only participating in the programme of the State Garden Show in Giessen . It is also demonstrating its good neighborly relations with the "Science People's Park" in the Wieseck floodplain on its own grounds. In front of the president's residence in the Ostanlage , six "artistic guideposts" confirm to passersby that they are on the right track.

A total of 40 decorative poles are currently being planted at the THMcampuses Giessen , Friedberg, and Wetzlar as a greeting to the upcoming State Garden Show. Anke Roos, the university's alumni coordinator, initiated the project at the suggestion of a former professor. Members of the Departments , administration, and the presidium participated in the design process. They received support from Gabriele Heinz, who teaches fine arts courses at the university.
