Two Further education events at the Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen will address issues of Europe-wide standardization in the construction industry. The Eurocodes, a European tool for structural design, will become mandatory on July 1, 2012. The seminars offered by the Giessen Department of Civil Engineering provide employees from engineering and architectural firms, companies, public authorities, and testing laboratories with insights into the changes to the regulations and the practical application of the new European standards.

On Friday, June 15, Prof. Dr. Jens Minnert will give a lecture on the design and construction of reinforced and prestressed concrete structures. The design and construction of steel structures will be the topic of Prof. Dr. Gerd Wagenknecht's lecture on Friday, June 22.
