Smartphones and laptops in lecture halls distract students. However, the Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen aims to demonstrate their potential as a teaching tool at an e-learning event. The "Lecture Hall 2.0" forum will explore mobile voting systems that enable meaningful interaction even in large lectures. Speakers will also discuss virtualized desktops, allowing students to access computer lab applications from their laptops. This facilitates the transfer of computer-based exercises into the lecture hall.

The event, part of the E-Learning Hessen Competence Network, begins on Tuesday, December 4, at 10:00 a.m. at the Giessen University of Applied Sciences (Wiesenstraße, Building A20, Room 307). Participants are asked to bring a smartphone and laptop. Further information and registration are available here.
