THM is deepening its cooperation with India: At the beginning of the year, a delegation from THM led by President Prof. Dr. Matthias Willems visited India – now the return visit has taken place.
During the International Staff Days, the President welcomed the delegation from the Indian Institute of Information Technology Allhabad (IIIT), led by President Prof. Dr. Mukul Sutaone. Concrete ideas and projects for collaboration exist, particularly in the areas of cybersecurity and artificial intelligence. Erasmus+ funding for cooperation with India was successfully secured in 2023.
Together with Prof. Dr. Om Prakash Vyas and Dr. Ranjan Vyas, existing projects in the field of artificial intelligence were further developed and new approaches were discussed. Additional projects in various Departments are already in the planning stages. The introduction of a double degree in the new Bachelor of Science program "Organizational and IT Security" was also discussed.
During a tour of the campus with Prof. Dr. Willems, the group visited, among other things, the Industry 4.0 laboratory and laboratories of the Department of Life Science Engineering (LSE). Furthermore, the Indian scientists participated in various events of the International Staff Days, which were organized by the International Office.
As part of the partnership, the possibility also arose for an Indian visiting scientist to work at the Research Campus of Central Hessen (FCMH) for three months.
“The cooperation underlines the importance of jointly developing solutions for future-oriented topics such as artificial intelligence and IT security,” the THMpresident concluded after the reciprocal visits.
