What is special about lasers and laser beams? Why does this technology offer unique opportunities? Where is laser technology used?

These are the questions that will be addressed in a public lecture given by Prof. Dr. Klaus Behler of the Giessen -Friedberg University of Applied Sciences on Wednesday, February 10, in Butzbach. The physicist and engineer, who lives in Butzbach, will provide a generally understandable introduction to laser technology. Drawing on his more than twenty years of engineering work, he will discuss the extraordinary properties of laser radiation and outline its potential applications in areas such as medicine, transportation, automotive engineering, and the production of mass products. This will demonstrate the extent to which the diverse potential of laser technology shapes everyday life in industrialized countries.

The lecture, to which the Lions Club Butzbach invites, begins at 7.30 p.m. in the restaurant "Zum Stern" (Weiseler Straße 36). The event, which also offers an opportunity for discussion, is aimed at all those interested in technology. Pupils who want to find out more about the good career prospects in laser technology are also welcome.
