The clinical picture of long/post-COVID syndrome poses major challenges for both medical staff and the patients affected. The hybrid health care research project “Digitally supported outpatient medical rehabilitation for long COVID syndrome” (AmRe-LoCO) offers support.
The project involves the Willy Robert Pitzer Institute for Health Services Research and Rehabilitation, located at the Department of Health of the Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen (THM), the Lahn-Dill Region Physicians' Network, the Center for Telemedicine in Bad Kissingen, Philipps University of Marburg, and many other partners. Following a one-year preparatory phase, patients with long-term COVID-19 can now be enrolled in the project starting September 1, 2024. Informational interviews have already been conducted with five individuals with long-term COVID-19. Enrollment of patients is possible until September 2025.
The goal is to offer optimal and individually tailored care to people with long-term COVID-19 in the Lahn-Dill region. Through the use of case management, participants are supported throughout the entire care process. The Willy Robert Pitzer Institute is responsible for the scientific support, the provision of scientific mentors, and the evaluation of the project. The project is funded by the Hessian Ministry for Family, Seniors, Sport, Health and Care.
The consortium leadership and project coordination are handled by the Lahn-Dill Region Physicians' Network (Arzt-Netz für die Region Lahn-Dill eV).
