Photo: Liana Gigineishvili If you want to study at a foreign university or complete a master's degree with an international profile, you can have your competence in dealing with the English language confirmed with a "Cambridge Certificate". Recognized examination centers offer tests at different levels. Such a certificate is also valid as a meaningful qualification on the job market in Germany and abroad.

At the Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen the collaboration between the Language Center and the society of the friends and sponsors of the THM in Friedberg eV has led to students preparing for the Cambridge Certificate being able to receive financial support. Fees of around 200 euros are due for participation in the certificate examination. The association provides five grants amounting to 50 percent of the fees for which students can apply.

At the THMcampus Friedberg, Rose Zeller -Hofer, coordinator at the local language center, heads the course for preparation for the certificate examination. The aim is to achieve the B2 level in the English language. In addition, 80 percent correct answers can even be confirmed by the higher C1 level (Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English). The preparatory course runs in the winter semester, is open to all Department and is considered an Elective subject in many Degree Courses .

The financial support of motivated students is one of the intentions of the association, whose board also sees the support in acquiring foreign language skills as a meaningful commitment.
