Those who complete the continuing education programme at the Giessen -Friedberg University of Applied Sciences, culminating in a Master of Business Administration, are very satisfied with their academic qualification. This is the conclusion of a recent survey conducted by the Department of Business.

In 2001, the Giessen -Friedberg University of Applied Sciences became the first German university of applied sciences to launch an accredited Master's programme in Business Administration. It is designed for managers who have successfully completed an undergraduate degree and wish to acquire additional expertise in general business administration, supplemented by topics such as international marketing and sales. The entire programme lasts two years, comprises eleven course modules, a Master's thesis, and is designed to be compatible with professional work.

As part of its regular evaluation process, the Department of Economics also collects data on student satisfaction, as students pay a total fee of €12,900 to participate. This includes aspects such as the quality of support, study conditions, and the flow of information. However, with a view to further developing the programme, those responsible are also very interested in learning how participants rate the content of the curriculum.

When asked whether the degree programme met their individual expectations, was scientifically sound, imparted practical knowledge, and represented a useful additional qualification to their first degree, the 17 members of the last graduating class gave average ratings of 1.2 to 1.7 on the standard school grading scale. This resulted in a very positive overall rating of 1.4.

In their supplementary comments, they particularly emphasized the positive learning environment, the dedication of the experienced teaching staff, and the lively exchange among the students. The group consisted primarily of practitioners from engineering and scientific fields, most of whom held management positions and had an average of twelve years of professional experience. The graduates also expressed great appreciation for the mandatory one-week exchange programme at an American partner university.
