(Photo: Andreas Bender) More than 50 guests came to the “7. LOEWE specialist forum” to the TH Mittelhessen in Gießen . The organizer was the Hessen agency in cooperation with the competence center for energy and environmental system technology of the THM . The topic of the event was "Increasing efficiency in environmental technology".

Scientists from Hessian universities of applied science and representatives of medium-sized companies presented research results. They lectured on technical systems and processes for sustainable water management, exhaust air purification and waste disposal, which contribute to minimizing resource consumption. For example, the focus was on controlling energy consumption in waste recycling, increasing the efficiency of thermal post-combustion systems or recycling photovoltaic modules.

The forum offered visitors from business and municipalities the opportunity to make contact with researchers and thus potential cooperation partners. Manuel Sturm from the Hessen agency spoke about the "state offensive for the development of scientific and economic excellence" (LOEWE). With this, the Hessian Ministry of Science promotes, among other things, research and development projects in which small and medium-sized companies work together with universities.
