The project group during a guided tour of the ABB company in Friedberg.A four-day meeting within the framework of the REMAKER project took place at the Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen (THM). This project is a collaboration within the European university network Cooperation of Universities in Central and Eastern Europe (CUCEE), of which THM is a member. The project is led at THM by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Rafael Greszczynski from the Department Business Administration and Engineering .

REMAKER is funded by the EU's Erasmus+ program, which supports collaboration between at least three organizations from EU member states and third countries associated with the program. The aim is to prepare experienced engineers from the mining industry for the challenges of modern mechatronics. Given the limited automation and robotization in the traditional fossil fuel industry, it is crucial that they receive retraining. The project has addressed topics such as electric drives, automation, robotics, power electronics, and condition monitoring of industrial systems. In addition to THM University of Applied Sciences, the Silesian University of Technology (Gliwice, Poland), Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech) from Estonia, and the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, Czech Republic, are participating in the project.

During the meeting, various activities took place under the motto "Industrial Visit to German Industry." Participants visited the companies ABB and Bosch. They also met with Prof. Dr. Eghbal Ghobadi from THM, who heads the research project "AI-supported highly automated weed control in grassland (KIhUG).".
