Schoolchildren and students were also invited to the "W3+FAIR for Optics, Electronics and Mechanics" for the first time this year. The TH Mittelhessen presented itself at the Wetzlar trade fair with posters and exhibits and provided information about its range of courses. Among others, the central students advisory service and the THM- Centres of Competence for Optical Technologies and Systems as well as for Nanotechnology and Photonics were represented.
On "StudentDay" Jutta Müller and Tatjana Tkaczuk, who presented the dual offer, provided information about studying at the THM. The approximately 130 interested parties were then able to receive individual advice. Students had the opportunity to talk to more than 150 exhibitors from ten countries about internships and starting a career.
"The positive response shows that the innovative concept of using a technology fair as a comprehensive platform for information on vocational training opportunities opens up new perspectives for young people to see the high-tech region of Central Hesse with many world market and technology leaders and the associated excellent To clarify development potentials", summarized THMprofessor Dr. Klaus Behler, who had long been committed to the establishment of an endowed professorship for optics financed by local industry and who organized the trade fair appearance.
