Hesse's Minister of Science, Boris Rhein, described the stand of Hessian universities at the Achema trade fair in Frankfurt as a "point of contact for many companies interested in contacts with science and as a platform for the transfer of research results".
The TH Mittelhessen is strongly represented. The Institute for Bioprocess Engineering and Pharmaceutical Technology will present, among other things, research projects on membrane filtration and purification technologies for the production of vaccines. Two projects at the Institute for Thermodynamics, Energy Process Engineering and Systems Analysis are concerned with the development of a high-temperature heat exchanger. The aim is to save energy when cleaning industrial exhaust gases. THM teams are available as contact persons at the exhibits, explain details of the research work and are also interested in finding new cooperation partners.
The Achema is the world's largest trade fair for the process industry for chemical technology, process engineering and biotechnology. More than 3800 exhibitors, about half of them from abroad, are expecting 170,000 visitors this year.
