The Master's programme in Civil Engineering at the Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen (THM) has received top ratings from its students. In the CHE Master's Ranking 2025, it performs above average in almost all categories compared to other programmes in Germany.
Every year, the Center for Higher Education Development (CHE) compares Degree Courses from various disciplines. The current ranking focused on Master's degree courses in Civil and Environmental Engineering, Electrical and Information Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials and Process Engineering, and Psychology. The ranking is based on questionnaires completed by students. In these questionnaires, students evaluate various aspects of course organization, faculty support, digital teaching elements, practical application, and research orientation in teaching.
The research and practical orientation at THM of Applied Sciences is particularly well-received by civil engineering students. Digital teaching elements, faculty support, and academic assistance are also praised. In their free-text comments, students highlight the fact that lecturers integrate current topics such as sustainability in construction and resource-efficient building into their lectures. The digitalization of the university is considered a major advantage: all information is available digitally, and tutorials and lectures can be organized via video call. The THM examination office also receives positive feedback.
The CHE ranking is published in the magazine Zeit Campus and online at www.heystudium.de/masterranking published.
