Prof. Dr. Klaus Herzog has taken up his post at the Giessen -Friedberg University of Applied Sciences. He teaches vehicle systems engineering in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Microtechnology, Energy and Thermal Engineering.
Klaus Herzog studied mechanical engineering with a specialization in automotive engineering at RWTH Aachen University, graduating with a degree in engineering in 1991. He continued his academic qualifications with a doctorate in engineering Dr.-Ing. from the University of Siegen. His dissertation in mechanical engineering focused on the "Development of a drive slip control system for a deep-sea crawler vehicle.".
He took up his first position in industry in 1992 as a development engineer at a manufacturer of transmission systems in Bühl. From there he moved to Ford-Werke AG in Cologne, where – interrupted by a period of approximately two years as a doctoral student at the University of Siegen – he worked in development until his move to the Giessen -Friedberg University of Applied Sciences.
Prof. Dr. Herzog's areas of expertise include automotive engineering, vehicle dynamics, vibration technology, and measurement and test bench technology. His scientific publications also address topics within these fields. He intends to contribute his extensive experience in industrial practice to the education of engineers at the Giessen -Friedberg University of Applied Sciences.
