Since the winter semester, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Niklas Büscher has been teaching at the Department of Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Data Processing (MND) in Friedberg. With Prof. Dr.-Ing. Niklas Büscher, the Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen (THM) gains an expert in distributed systems, operating systems and network technologies. He has been teaching at the Department of Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Data Processing (MND) in Friedberg since the winter semester.

After completing his computer science studies at the Technical University of Darmstadt (TU Darmstadt) and the University of Colorado in Boulder, graduating with a Master's degree in 2013, Büscher earned his doctorate in security engineering. His dissertation, "Compilation for More Practical Secure Multi-party Computation," focused on secure multi-party computation (MPC): a universal cryptographic tool capable of guaranteeing data protection in any application, such as the secure matching of genetic fingerprints with biometric databases. Since developing MPC programmes has historically been very complex, he dedicated himself to automating and optimizing this process. This makes the complex technology practically applicable and accessible even to non-experts.

Büscher gained practical experience from 2018 to 2022 at Continental as a project manager and product owner for cybersecurity in the field of assisted and autonomous driving. He then spent three years as Engineering Lead for Cybersecurity at MBition, a Mercedes-Benz Group company. In this role, Büscher was responsible for cybersecurity in the software development of infotainment control units.

His teaching and research focus on operating systems and security engineering. As a research associate, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Büscher conducted research at, among other institutions, the European Center for Security and Privacy by Design (EC SPRIDE) and the Center for Research in Security and Privacy (CRISP) at TU Darmstadt.
