From professors and lab engineers to staff from Departments , teaching, IT, alumni management, and the mailroom: the celebration of service anniversaries at THM demonstrated the diversity of the people, activities, and career paths that shape the university. President Prof. Dr. Matthias Willems congratulated 20 employees celebrating 25 and 40 years of service and thanked them for their dedication to the university.
“Thank you for 25 and 40 years of service at THM or in the public sector,” he said. Their work makes a crucial contribution to ensuring that teaching, research, and administration function smoothly day after day. Once a year, presidium , staff council, and human resources department invite long-serving employees to a celebration. They receive a certificate and have the opportunity to talk with one another – about their daily work, special moments at the university or other state agencies in Hesse, and about developments over the past decades.
At the celebration, the honorees shared numerous memories: from the first THM ball to the introduction of the student chip card, "and especially the moment it worked," as one honoree recounted with a smile. Another woman recalled a game of chess with the president. Those who have worked at THM or in the public service for a quarter of a century or four decades have experienced a great deal: memories of their first days at work, technological milestones, and anecdotes demonstrated how vibrant university life was and is.
Martina Reißer, Ingrid Albrecht, and Andrea Krug were honored for 40 years of service to the state of Hesse. Certificates for 25 years of service were awarded to: Michaela Sendzik, Jörg Lorenz, Jens Neidhart, Anke Roos, Irina Scheffler, Cornelia Misgaiski, Markus Hockel, Tobias Gutjahr, Ralf Gerrit Laun, Oliver Christ, Jutta Müller, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Heinrich Friederich, Prof. Dr. Patrick Elter, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Martin Sting, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ulrich Birkel, Prof. Dr. Marcus Martin, and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Thomas Pyttel.
