Prof. Dr. Benedikt LattkeAutomotized driving research the automotive group and suppliers worldwide. It is also a focus of Prof. Dr. Benedikt Lattke, who has been working at the Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics and Material Technology Department at the THM in Friedberg since March.

From 2002 to 2008 Lattke studied mechanical engineering with the field of mechatronics at the TU Darmstadt. He concluded a doctorate in the vehicle technology department via a "communication -based hazard warning system for motorcycles". His work shows that motorcycle accidents often go back to recognizable danger points such as curves, frictional jumps or road damage that could be avoided by assistance systems. A newly developed warning system combines driving dynamics sensors with wireless communication to identify danger points at an early stage.

Benedikt Lattke remained loyal to the assistant driving safety: in 2012 he went to Continental at the Frankfurt location, where he held various positions in the following years. He worked as a software developer, a project manager and as a management for the topic of "Parking & Trailer Functions". As a solution manager, he led the previous development projects in the area of "Innovation Line Driverless" professionally and organizationally. During this time, he was involved in numerous technical and scientific publications on automated driving and driver assistance systems. He received the Continental Automotive Gold Award in the internal innovation competition of the automotive supplier twice. He was involved in the development of several inventions that led to granting patents.

Automated driving and mobile robotics remain topics that Prof. Dr. Benedikt Lattke wants to devote himself in research and teaching at the THM . In addition to contacts with the TU Darmstadt, he also brings those to China, Japan, Romania, Singapore and the USA for the benefit of his students.
