Prof. Dr. Peter Werner has taken up his post at the Giessen -Friedberg University of Applied Sciences. He teaches accounting and controlling in the Department Business Administration and Engineering in Friedberg.
Peter Werner completed his studies in Business Administration at Mainz University of Applied Sciences in 1996, graduating with a diploma after completing his vocational training as a bank clerk. He wrote his diploma thesis as a scholarship recipient of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) at the Chamber of Commerce in Costa Rica. He then pursued further studies in Economics at South Bank University in London, earning a Master of Arts degree. He received his doctorate in International Business from the University of Leeds in England. His dissertation, which took him to Shanghai for a six-month research stay, examined the impact of international cooperation on the transfer of know-how to the Chinese economy.
Before joining the Giessen -Friedberg University of Applied Sciences, he worked for several years in international controlling at various large industrial companies. As a lecturer at the Mainz University of Applied Sciences, he gained extensive experience in the academic training of business administration students. In his courses at the Friedberg University of Applied Sciences, he intends to focus on operational and international controlling.
