Prof. Dr. Günter Selzer has received the Hessian State Medal of Honor. Selzer, who teaches logistics at the Giessen -Friedberg University of Applied Sciences, received the award for his voluntary work at the First Soden Swimming Club.

The Certificate of Honor is awarded on behalf of the Hessian Minister-President to citizens who have rendered outstanding service to the democratic, social, and cultural development of our society. It serves as a token of gratitude and recognition for at least 12 years of voluntary service for the common good.

In addition to friends, colleagues, and members of the swimming club, Selzer also congratulated Bad Soden's mayor, Norbert Altenkamp, ​​who emphasized the honoree's great commitment. Altenkamp appealed to those present not only to benefit from the efforts of others, but also to give something back to society through active engagement.
