Johannes Weg is the new honorary professor at the Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen . He has been a lecturer at the Department Mechanical and Energy Engineering in Giessen since 1994, teaching courses on manufacturing processes and production methods. The 53-year-old from Dillenburg also teaches in the dual study programme "StudyPlus" in Wetzlar.

Johannes Weg graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Applied Sciences Giessen -Friedberg in 1992. He then worked there on a research project for programmeming expert systems.

Weg worked in research and development at various medium-sized industrial companies. His work focused on increasing process efficiency in general mechanical engineering and in the production of pressure vessels. He held management positions at a plastics processing company and a manufacturer of ceramic facades. Since 2018, the newly appointed honorary professor has been Managing Director of Hailo Wind Systems in Haiger. The company offers access platforms and service lifts for wind turbines and has subsidiaries in America and Asia.
