Prof. Dr. Julia Meister, an expert in stochastics and statistics, has joined THM . She teaches business mathematics at the Department of Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Data Processing (MND) in Friedberg.
She graduated from the University of Mannheim with a Master of Science degree in Business Mathematics in 2016. She completed her doctorate at the University's Faculty of Business Information Systems and Business Mathematics, supported by a scholarship from the Baden-Württemberg State Graduate Fund. Her thesis focused on "Equivariant Holomorphic Differential Operators with Vector-Valued Automorphism Factors." In it, she examined the construction and investigation of functions of complex numbers, an important tool in various areas of mathematics, such as complex geometry and analytic number theory, as well as theoretical physics.
Her experience in statistics has led Julia Meister to work in the logistics industry, among other things, as well as in the public sector. Since 2021, as a "Critical Path Manager" at the Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society, she has investigated, among other things, the causes of dropout and success and contributed to the development of an early warning system for predicting impending dropouts. Her responsibilities included analyzing student data and developing target group-specific measures to reduce dropout rates and improve student success. Lecturer positions at various universities in the fields of business mathematics, mathematics, and statistics have provided her with insights into teaching throughout her academic and professional career.
At THM , she contributes her knowledge primarily to the “Mathematics for Sustainability, Economics and Data Science” programme.
