Kristof Obermann Prof. Dr. Kristof Obermann has started his work at the Giessen -Friedberg University of Applied Sciences with the start of the winter semester.

He teaches communications engineering at the Giessen Department of Electrical and Information Engineering. Kristof Obermann studied electrical engineering at RWTH Aachen University and TU Berlin. He completed his studies there in 1995 with a diploma and subsequently earned his doctorate ( Dr.-Ing.

As a specialist in strategic network planning, Obermann worked in industry from 1998 to 2006 at Arcor AG & Co KG, which is now part of the Vodafone Group. He gained his first experience in academic teaching at the University of Regensburg, which appointed him Professor of Communications Engineering in 2006. From there, he received a call to the University of Applied Sciences in Giessen .

Obermann's work focuses on DSL technology, telecommunications networks, and optical transmission networks. He has collaborated with renowned partners such as Deutsche Telekom, Vodafone, and Nokia Siemens Networks. He is the author of numerous technical publications. Most recently, this year he published a book on "Data Network Technologies for Next Generation Networks." The network expert sees research and development projects as the foundation for imparting current knowledge to students.
