Dr. Ulrich Thiele has been appointed honorary professor at the Giessen -Friedberg University of Applied Sciences. At the request of the Department of Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Computer Science, the university recognized his commitment, particularly to the Technical Writing and Multimedia Documentation degree programme.

Prof. Dr. Thiele has been a lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences in Giessen since 2002. He has published numerous books and articles on aspects of technical documentation and other areas of communication. In the TRMD (Technical Documentation and Media Management) programme, he has significantly shaped the curriculum in the areas of desktop publishing and editorial systems. In the future, he will contribute his expertise to two Master's Degree Courses at the university: one for the qualification of technical writers and the other in the subject "Document Management and Editorial Systems" within the Media Informatics programme. Furthermore, the new honorary professor will share his profound knowledge of visualization methods—especially digital object photography—with aspiring media designers.
