Prof. Dr. Harald Danne and Prof. Dr. Axel Schumann-Luck have been elected Vice Presidents of the Giessen -Friedberg University of Applied Sciences. They will succeed Prof. Dr. Manfred Börgens and Hajo Köppen on March 1, 2006, who will both be stepping down after four years on the presidium . The university senate followed the university president's recommendation in its vote. Both candidates received the necessary majority of the 30 members present in the first round of voting. The vice presidents' term of office is three years.
Harald Danne (50) has been a member of the Giessen -Friedberg University of Applied Sciences since 1989. He teaches business law in the Department of Business and has been the Managing Director of the University's Center for Dual Studies since 2001. In the university's presidium , he will be responsible for, among other things, research and teaching, Professional Development , technology transfer, and regional relations.Axel Schumann-Luck (46) joined the university of applied sciences in 1997. At the Department of Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Computer Science, which he has headed as dean since 2001, he teaches computer science for technical Degree Courses and business. His main areas of focus in the presidium will be data processing, technology and security, real estate, and international relations.
